World-first Nanotechnology Allowing People To Read Smart Devices Without Prescription Glasses, Receives China, USA and Australian Patent Approval

The world’s first vision-enhancing screen protector for smart devices using Australian patented nanotechnology has been created by Sunshine Coast company, ForgetSPECSTM.

After receiving its Australian Patent earlier in the year, ForgetSPECSTM has now acquired U.S.A and CHINA Patent Approval, paving the way for 31 international applications, currently in progress.

“We are now protected in three key markets, which proves we have a truly innovative, unique and inventive solution,” said founder and businessman, Darrell Edwards.

The Australia-led research and design team has created an easily fitted, strong and flexible screen protector that acts like a prescription lens for smartphones for people with Presbyopia (long-sightedness).

“Over 1 million Australians and 120 million Americans suffer from Presbyopia, which can greatly affect access to your digital life ” said Mr Edwards, who also suffers from the condition.

“I was constantly forgetting, losing or misplacing my glasses and I was so frustrated when I couldn’t read my smartphone. I asked myself why I was looking at glass, through glass?”

Using nanotechnology, ForgetSPECSTM has embedded millions of tiny lenses into a film that changes the direction of light emitted from the device. This adjusts the visual output to correct the focus on the eye and transforms the screen protector into a lens, essentially making your glasses a part of your smart device. The technology covers prescriptions from -3.5 to +3.5 Dioptres within one screen, suitable for most smartphone models. “The applications for our technology are endless”

The CHINESE patent approval provides us with an extra layer of protection in one of the largest markets globally, and provides precedence for patent defence.

“Our disruptive technology provides true differentiation in the global screen protector market, which is projected to be worth USD $76.64 billion by 2028,” said Mr Edwards, who has already experienced significant interest and demand for the product in their pre-launch capital raise.

After completing extensive research and development, numerous prototypes and testing, ForgetSPECSTM is expected to launch later this year. Commercialisation and partnership opportunities are still available.
