NSW Government Support for JPK Pacific Manufacturing

The NSW Government has announced an initiative to re-establish the boat -building sector in Australia with the appointment of JPK Pacific to commence manufacturing of the globally successful JPK yacht brand. 

Innovation Composites of Nowra in the Shoalhaven region has been selected as the manufacturing partner, “Our Made in Australia product is price competitive and our years of experience ensures the versatile JPK yacht is a quality product able to compete globally”

JPK Pacific have the exclusive license to manufacture and market the successful French brand in the Asia / Pacific region. 

Mattijs Willenborg of JPK Pacific said “The decision by the NSW Government to support our company is very significant as JPK yachts will be the only production yacht  ‘Made in Australia’ and offer Australian yachtsmen the opportunity to sail a locally made, globally successful leading edge yacht with a proven track record earned in the competitive European and UK yachting circuits.”

JPK Pacific said “ We have applied the successful French technique and technologies and proved that manufacturing in Australia can be competitive in the global marketplace. The production of JPK yachts in Australia now opens up an export market to the significant Asia / Pacific region including the two largest markets of China and Japan”

JPK Pacific has decided the versatile JPK 10.80 and JPK 11.80 will be the first models on the production line. Both the 10.80’s and 11.80’s have won the major regattas, the Fastnet and Middle Sea races in Europe on multiple occasions over the past 6 years. The initial JPK 10.80 based in Perth, Atomic Blonde won the 2020/2021, WA Off – Shore racing championship, Siska Trophy. Proud owner, Doctor Simon Torvaldsen said “The 10.80 model is very versatile as either a short handed or crewed racer and backs up to take the family out on a weekend cruise allowing everyone to get a turn on this easy to sail yacht” 

With manufacturing based locally there are many benefits in selecting a JPK with its affordable price tag and local delivery allowing buyers to view the process along the production line rather than having to wait for the importation of the finished product.

Willenborg said “ Securing NSW Government support was an onerous task as the due diligence process was extensive, however at the end of the day JPK Pacific  ticked all the boxes of the comprehensive Government criteria.We are now looking to a capital raising to grow our company and the credibility of receiving a government grant is most helpful”
